Investing in the latest Cobot Welder

SST have recently acquired a Lorch TIG welding Cobot.
Cobot welding translates to collaborative robot welding for mid-sized businesses: quick, flexible and economical – a system made for the automation of small and medium batch sizes.
The TIG version launched last year in Germany and Lorch have only installed ten TIG systems in the UK to date. The COBOT enables welding to be automated through programming or manually positioning the torch at start and stop points. This type of welding automation leaves the welder in full control, while the robot executes the instructions precisely and exactly as given. It was acquired to help some of SSTs’ projects to improve efficiency whilst maintaining the precision and quality of the welding process.
SST have already found the Cobot has helped reduce welding times on a specific part of a project from 3 hours to under 30 minutes!
SST continues to develop and improve on their processes to help productivity for their customers.
Through utilising solutions from MSP, our machining capabilities have gone from strength to strength.
The committee is made up of representatives from across the company and will meet once a month to discuss all health and safety matters.
